Welcome to Crush & Fade, our weekly series where we break down the current PGA Tour event and recap the previous tournament. Let’s dive in.
John Deere Classic Recap
Another week, another playoff. Brian Campbell is now a two-time PGA Tour winner after taking down Emiliano Grillo on the first extra hole. The John Deere Classic rarely fields the Tour’s biggest names, but the course held up and gave us a tight leaderboard to the finish.
Scottish Open Preview
This week, we head across the pond to The Renaissance Club in Scotland. It is a par 70 layout stretching 7,282 yards and serves as the lead-in to next week’s Open Championship at Royal Portrush. Scotland’s own Robert MacIntyre is the defending champion.
I love this event every year. Fun course, strong field, and the forecast looks surprisingly beautiful all week. The Scottish weather gods are playing nice.
Sandman Top Bets
Ben Griffin is sitting out to rest ahead of the Open, so no Aviators pick this week. But there is still a lot to like on the board. Good form, strong course history, and value across multiple tiers.
Robert MacIntyre WIN +2500
Defending champ. Hometown hero. Lefty Bob. I was half-hoping for rough conditions to give him an edge, but even with good weather, he is in great form. Coming off a solo second at the U.S. Open, this is a great spot for him.
Collin Morikawa Top 5 +475
Yes, he has been testy with the media. Yes, he is on another new caddie. But the game is still there. He finished tied for fourth here last year and has been hovering near the top of leaderboards lately.
Tommy Fleetwood Top 10 +260
This is a heart pick. The Travelers hurt, but the way he handled that loss said a lot. He has 41 Top 10s without a win, not because he cannot finish, but because he keeps putting himself in position. I think he plays with real purpose this week.
JJ Spaun Top 20 +260
He is flying under the radar. No course history at The Renaissance Club, but his recent form and consistency make this great value.

Tommy Fleetwood TOP 10 +260

Fade of the Week: Tom Kim

Picking fades is more art than science, but I am steering clear of Tom Kim this week. He finished tied for fifteenth here last year at twelve under, but his 2025 numbers just are not there.
Only one Top 25 in nineteen events this year. Just twelve made cuts. The talent is still there, but the consistency is not. I am not trusting it this week.
FADE Picks Recap
Tom Kim WIN +7500
Tom Kim TOP 10 +450
Tom Kim TOP 20 +320
Good luck this week, Sandman Nation, and may all your bets land squarely on the green.
