Fantasy Football Week 5 Waiver Wire: Top Pickups and Streaming Options

Trey Benson, Jalen Tolbert, and Cam Skattebo were last week’s non-QB waiver wire tips. The trio combined for a solid 33.40 points, with Tolbert frequently targeted by Dak Prescott, Benson stepping into James Conner’s role, and Skattebo continuing to carry a heavy workload in the Giants’ backfield.

Injuries are again a factor in our Week 5 waiver wire picks, starting off with one of Skattebo’s teammates.

Wan’Dale Robinson

Rostered in just over half of fantasy leagues, we are stretching our usual criteria for Wan’Dale Robinson. Shallower leagues should see Robinson available on the waiver wire, if the WR18 hasn’t already been picked up by one of your rivals.

This is all about the unfortunate news of Malik Nabers being ruled out for the year with a torn ACL. Robinson has only been targeted nine times over the last two weeks, but that’s going to leap as rookie Jaxson Dart needs someone to throw the ball to.

Robinson had 8 and 10 targets in Weeks 1 and 2, respectively. Week 5 sees him face the Saints, who have rarely pressured the quarterback, and they have conceded 280+ passing yards in each of the first three weeks of the season.

Woody Marks

Sunday was a breakout game for Woody Marks. He put up 27.9 fantasy points on 17 rushing attempts, two touchdowns, and five targets. Houston’s offense ran through Marks, who had a total of 11 fantasy points through the first three weeks of the season.

Houston is facing Baltimore in Week 5. The Ravens are missing a number of key defensive players and have conceded the most fantasy points to running backs so far this season.

A repeat of his Week 4 return may sound like a wild dream, but it’s not out of the question against this Ravens D.

Dalton Schultz

The Ravens just conceded 37 points to a Chiefs offense which has been uninspiring so far this season. Jaire Alexander and Nnamdi Madubike were already sidelined. Roquan Smith, Marlon Humphrey, and Nate Wiggins left Sunday’s game with injuries.

Baltimore’s depleted unit has already been leaking points to tight ends. Dalton Schultz has picked up six targets in each of the last two weeks and he’s become a useful safety valve for CJ Stroud in a misfiring Texans offense.

If you don’t have one of the elite tight ends, Schultz is a good streaming option and is only rostered in 6.6% of NFL fantasy leagues.

Cardinals Defense

Arizona is facing a Titans team which is averaging under 13 points per game. Tennessee is allowing pressures at the highest rate in the NFL and was shut out by the Texans in Week 4.

Houston’s defense scored 14 points against the Titans. The Cardinals are the seventh-highest scoring D so far this season.

Arizona is the premier defense streaming option for Week 5. Hopes of Cam Ward masterminding a functional offense in his rookie year have quickly disappeared.
